In 1892, Franz Heinrich created Schmitz Cargobull in Altenberg, Germany. The goal is to manufacture and sell trailers, semi-trailers and different bodyworks to professionals. The make progressively grows during the 1900s thanks to the construction of new factories in Germany and China. Schmitz Cargobull continues to grow with the development of telematics for semi-trailers (called Trailer Connect) in 2004 and with the creation of more efficient production lines starting in 2007.
Today, it is one of the largest manufacturing company for trailers and semi-trailers with Krone or Fruehauf.The company offers different types of materials : new trailers and semi-trailers as well as a variety of bodyworks (refrigerated, flatbed, tipper, chassis etc...) also available in used condition. Services such as financing, telematics or a dedicated portal for spare parts complete the Schmitz Cargobull ressources.
