Renault Trucks is an important French manufacturer of commercial and industrial vehicles. Renault manufactures delivery, distribution, long distance and construction trucks but also special vehicles. The Renault trucks have been rewarded with the "Truck of the Year" award several times : in 1983 for the G260, in 1991 for the AE Magnum and in 2015 for the Renault T.
In 1898, after designing a 4-gear gearbox, Louis Renault manufacturers his first car. During the First World War, and the taxis de la Marne episode, the make hasnot been forgotten since. Associated with Berliet, the group develops and in 1923 offers the first tractor unit. In 1955, the Saviem is created, and bring together the Renault trucks department and Latil. Then, in 1978, the merger between Berliet and Saviem is the start of Renault Industrial Vehicles. RVI aquieres Dodge Europe in 1983, and Mack in 1990. In 2001, Renault is added to the Volvo group, and goes by the name Renault Trucks the following year.
